Proctored Exams

Proctored Exams

The Holy Spirit University of Atlanta requires proctors to monitor final exams for all degree programs. As a student, it is your responsibility to select an individual who will be available to proctor your final exams. Once this person is approved, he/she will be your designated proctor for the duration of your degree program. Your proctor will be asked to complete and submit a Proctor Application and Agreement. This information will be maintained by the University, as part of the academic file, for the duration of your enrollment. In the event you need to change proctors during the enrollment period, a new Proctor Application and Agreement should be submitted to University administration.

How do I select a Proctor?
Acceptable proctors include school teachers and principals, librarians, clergy members, human resources officers and workplace supervisors. A proctor should hold a position of integrity. Family members or friends cannot act as proctors. Students must select a trusted individual who will be available to proctor exams as needed by the students’ own course schedule. This individual should be able to meet (at a minimum) the following guidelines:

  1. The Proctor should have access to internet and email in order to access messages and/or files from the University
  2. The Proctor should live in close proximity to the student and be able to monitor the exam (without interruption) in an area which is free from distraction. The exam site and time should be decided by the student and the Proctor in order to ensure that there will be ample opportunity for successful completion of the exam.
  3. The Proctor must be comfortable in a position of authority and be able to ensure that the integrity of the examination process is maintained.
